I swear, if my computer freezes ONE MORE TIME today, I'm going to punch something. (Like a pillow... or the wall. My dad told me to go with the pillow)
It seems like it's doing better... but I don't want to restart my computer for the 7th time today. I'm not really exaggerating. It's ridiculous. And definitely not funny. I feel very electronically challenged this morning! Good thing I still have physical bible =P
I talked to Katie for a while this morning which was nice :) It sounds like she's doing really well and is having a fannntastic time! She put some pictures on facebook. And some videos on YouTube (ktyack633 I think). Her Berlin pictures are awesome! So if you're friends with her, check them out :) There are links to her videos here at her blog. Babysitting went really well yesterday. I got some cute pictures of the boys. I'll put them up somewhere sometime... ;)
Dance was good too. It was really hot in the studio... There isn't air conditioning. Which isn't all bad. But it was hot. Especially by the end of the night! I feel prepared. The rehearsal is on Tuesday. The dance show is next Sunday. This year has gone by really fast. I feel like we haven't been doing dance for that long...
Next year is going to be weird without the seniors. I don't think we had any seniors in our class last year... so it didn't change the makeup of the class a whole lot this year. We got 2 freshman. But that's it. But now there are 4 seniors leaving! It's going to be a sad show. But happy at the same time. I think that I think about the future a little bit too much. That I don't live in the present enough...
I guess I'll head to the present now!

Now NIPTO!
Romans 14:1-8 1Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters.
This section is labeled "The weak and the strong" in my bible (and online). That may be the "main" theme, but another strong recurring theme is passing judgment on other people. We should accept everyone wherever they are. And we shouldn't judge the little uncertain things.
2One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables.
It's like "the meat eater vs the vegetarian" That's all I wanted to say here. =P (Okay. Not really. But I'm going to say this in parenthesis. HAH! Some of us are strong enough to eat whatever we want. To follow God wherever he calls us. Others can only eat vegetables. They can only go so far.)
3The man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him.
Meat eaters: don't look down on vegetarians. Vegetarians: don't do the "holier than thou" at the meat eaters. God accepts each of you. No matter what you eat.
4Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.
I love this verse. Don't judge God's servants. Each person is accountable to their own master. And we stand to God because he is able to support us. It's a sweet picture. :)
5One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.
So this is pretty straight forward in the first sentence. The second sentence is kind of confusing. But not really? But kind of. Is he saying that everyone should consider one day more holy than another or think that they're all the same? I don't know. But I do think that he thinks that everyone should know what they think.
6He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord. He who eats meat, eats to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains, does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God.
(this is kind of continued from the above bold section) Because if one thinks one day is special, one is doing it because one wants to honor God with that day. If one eats meat, one eats it for God and thanks him for it. If one doesn't eat meat, one does it because one feels that it's the proper thing to do and they thank God for it.
7For none of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies to himself alone.
No one lives alone. We live in a world of 6 or 7 billion people. No one is alone. You can't live completely for yourself. Well, I guess you could, but that would be kind of ridiculous. You can't die to yourself alone. If you die to yourself, you die to others. I don't know if I've ever acknowledged this verse before. Sure I had to have read it at some point, but I don't remember reading it. But it's a good verse. A good reminder to live for others.
8If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
Living or dying we belong to God. Simple as that.
That only took me forever to write... thanks to self-diagnosed ADD. (I don't really have ADD. I just have ADD moments. Same difference, right? No. Not really.)
I need to do chemistry. And algebra. Ew. I'm having trouble with redox reactions in chemistry... Maybe I'll look online to see if there's anything that can help me understand them better. Even though I probably wouldn't really have to get much on this test to get an A... *sigh*

Good morning (or afternoon/evening to my German reader)
I'm tired and a little sad this morning.
I need to get more sleep. But staying up late last night was my own fault. Well, actually it was Nicholas Sparks's fault because he writes such stinkin' good books! But I could've put it down. But I just wanted to finish it! (Dear John, if you were wondering what book it was.) I ended up putting it down with about 30 pages left because I had already read about 50 pages more than I had told myself I would. And it was late. And I was starting to blink r e a l l y s l o w l y, if you know what I mean.
Hannah and I are babysitting for Z&D today because the girls have a Dr's appointment. I like playing with those little boys! They're cute. And soo funny. I'll have to try to remember anything funny that Z says because he sometimes says the cutest/funniest/most outrageous things.
We (Mom, Hannah, and I) went to Berean yesterday to get Bibles for me&Hannah. They didn't have what either of us were looking for. But a very nice lady found the NIV/NASB parallel bible that I was looking for at another store and is having it shipped to their store for me :)
I really want an NIV/NASB side-by-side because I like the "word for word" of the NASB, but I also really like the "thought for thought" of the NIV. And I like comparing key words that they use. And it's just a lot easier to do with a parallel bible! If you're looking for a parallel bible online, this was a really good one that I found :)
NIPTO. νίπτω. Washed. I stopped for a second after I wrote those words. (Or copied&pasted the Greek.) And I stopped and I thought for a second. Why am I doing this? Really. Why? I decided to go back to the EncounterBlog and see what the description of NIPTO was. And it totally encouraged&challenged me to be more crazy about this than I already am! Romans 13:11-14 11And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.
Do this [love your neighbor as yourself] because of what's happening right now. The present time. It's time to wake up. There's no more time for us to sleep in our faith. Our salvation is coming nearer every second (which sound soooo cliche and corny!)
12The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.
I love this picture of the night being almost over and the day being almost here. It makes me think of Relay For Life. I stay up all night at Relay because what else is there to do?! But it's always the coldest right before the sun rises. But the sky is getting lighter, and you know it's coming, and it's SO exciting because you'll see the sun soon. And when this figurative picture happens, we'll see the son. Boo yah for bad plays on words. I also like the "armor of light." It's so... warrior-y. Like. Barbarian Warrior Princess warrior-y. :D But in order to put on the armor of light, we have to get rid of those "deeds of darkness" so that we can be a total light.
13Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy.
Just... don't do those things. I mean, it's daytime here... sunlight. No one wants to see anyone like that. 'Kay? Kay. I'm glad that's settled.
14Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature.
Put Jesus on. And keep him on. He doesn't go in the dirty clothes pile. He's always clean. And always available for wear. Do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature. Don't even think about it. How adamant. Think about God instead. Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things. (Philippians 4:8)

I was clicking around this morning, and I accidentally clicked on one of my bookmarks in my toolbar. It is a fantastic video. I mean, it's obviously fantastic because, well, I have it bookmarked! I don't know if I've shared this before, but oh well. It's good and definitely worth watching twice! (It's gotten over 13.6 million views on YouTube!)

It's been a good, productive morning for me! I got up and went for a walk around the neighborhood with worship music in hand/ear. Grad party pictures are uploading to facebook as I type...(or not... I'll try to get them up later today! I just need to steal Hannah's laptop for about 15 minutes at some point today!) And I'm eating breakfast! So it's been a good morning for me :)
The Chuck Season 3 finale was last night. It was faaaantabulous. Dad walked in from golfing to many squeals. "Every Monday night..." That's what Chuck does to a person. (Katie, if you have any spare time, you should really watch those last few episodes!) They wrapped a lot of stuff up, but opened a whole new can of worms that will probably blow my socks off! haha
This morning while I was walking, I kind of set a goal for myself. I'm pretty sure that it's plausible. I want to run a 5K this fall. I think. I would have all summer to "train." And it would be a good motivation to get up in the morning and exercise!
I think if I walked every morning, and eventually started jogging, then actually running, I could work up the stamina/speed. I think my goal would be a race in the fall.
Okay. Now I've looked, and the only "good" race (really close to home/5k) I can find is in a month. I'm not sure if I can get up to running 3 miles in a month... Hm.
There is another one that could be promising... it's pretty close by and it's in the beginning of October. I could do it by October.
Now I'm excited. I want to do this. Running (jogging is probably more appropriate) was something I did a lot of a couple years ago, but I kind of fell out of the habit of doing it. I want to get back into it this summer. I think getting up earlier and getting my day started this school year will make it a lot easier to get up and go for a jog this summer. Not to mention the sun rises at like, 6... so it's not even dark outside! :)
Day 23 of 100 Days of Holiness. I think it's telling me that deciding to run isn't a bad idea. The verse at the end? Isaiah 40:31 "...those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
Either that or I'm just looking for affirmation that running isn't a bad idea! hah.

Romans 13:8-10 (3 verses. Ambitious, I know.) 8Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law.
This is so interesting. He's basically saying: Don't have debt. Except when you love one another. Because when you love other people, it fulfills the law.
9The commandments, "Do not commit adultery," "Do not murder," "Do not steal," "Do not covet," and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: "Love your neighbor as yourself."
There's not much to say about this verse. All of the commandments are summed up in the last one: Love your neighbor as yourself. Simple.
10Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
Love does not harm. It fulfills the law. Love is healing.
It's a good song. I like it :)

Uhrggg. I have a mosquito bite on the back of my right leg, right under where my knee bends... so on my upper calf. And it's one of the most frustrating places to have a mosquito bite because I can't cross my legs how I want to! haha
Today is Day 22 of 100 Days of Holiness. This was another good thought/reminder. So use my new Ctrl+click trick and go read it! It'll take less than thirty seconds. Promise (unless you have a super slow computer).
Okay. One last thing before NIPTO: My sister is a genius. She may not know it, but she is. I was creepin' around like I do so well, and I found this on her old blog. It's fantastic. She wrote it last year in May.
Life on this earth is short. Never again will you have the opportunity that you have now to do whatever it is you can do. Hollywood dreams of more time, of going back and living life again (17 Again, Groundhog Day, Back to the Future, and Meet the Robinson's to name a few). Unfortunately, we can't do that. You have one shot at this life. You have less time on this earth than you did when you started reading this blog (Thanks Kevin Homan). When you get off this computer, or even after you read this blog, are you going to do something that will make your life worth it? Are you going to make God proud with the things you do, and the faith you put in Him and His plan? What does it take intensify your spiritual walk with God? Do you need to spend time with Him in silence? Do you need to cry out to Him and ask Him to heal you? Do you need a joyful worship session with the David Crowder Band*? Do you need to stop making excuses and gather the courage to proclaim His name to your friends? To your family? To your neighbors? To your enemies? To strangers?
What does it take?
Take it to God.
I think that deserves a BOOYAH and hi-fives and fist-bumps all around. What say you?

Romans 13:1-7 1Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
Authority. Something almost every teenager struggles with. When you're a teenager, you want to do what you want to do, right? But here's the kind of "dreaded truth": God has established all authority. Sooo when you rebel against any kind of authority, you're rebelling against God. This isn't something I find easy to write about. I would say I'm going through a little but of a "stubborn streak" and it's frustrating. Not getting what you want is so frustrating. But when someone who is in authority tells you what to do, it's basically a command that is coming through someone established by God. You might think "My teachers aren't really established by God." Well. They are. They're authority figures that need to be respected. The president is another big authority figure that a lot of people don't really respect. President Obama was put in authority by God. So we need to respect him. We might not agree that the decisions he makes are the best for our country, but we still need to respect them.
2Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.
Going against authority=going against God. Basically. Really it should be =going against what God put in place. Going against authority calls for judgment. Or brings judgment upon oneself.
3For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you.
People in authority aren't here to scare you if you're doing the right thing. But if you're doing the wrong thing, watch out. But if you're doing the right thing, you should be commended! Good job! Well done, good and faithful servant. If you don't want to live in fear of authority, do what is right. There are rewards for those who do the right thing. (I feel like I'm doing the "come to the dark side, we have cookies" thing... but not! haha)
4For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.
Oooooh dear. This is slightly frightening. But let me breakitdown. As God's servants, authority figures are to do good to those who do good. But when you do wrong... Erm. Be scared. They have swords. Because they're God's servants... they're agents of wrath. Frightening, to say the least.
5Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience.
We should submit to authority, not only because we might be punished, but because it's the right thing to do. It's what our conscience tells us is right.
6This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, who give their full time to governing.
We pay taxes. Well, I don't. But my parents do. (So do my sisters, actually....) But they pay taxes because it shows respect and submittence (is that even a word? I don't think so, but I'll use it anyways) to authority. The government is technically God's servants... who give their full time to governing. Part of the government may be corrupt, but I'm not going there because I have no knowledge of the corrupt government. And I don't feel like researching. =P
7Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
I like this... most of the time that is. There are times when you don't feel like giving anyone what you owe them. But you should give everyone what they are due. Yup.

They're done. Kinda. I looked over. I don't feel creepy. But I do feel like I attracted a little bit of attention. Wow. I'm over analyzing this. A lot. I don't think it really matters.
So I took electronic notes tonight (aka I brought my laptop and typed. WOOHOO) so it should be slightly easier to work on this tonight. Not as much actual remembering as referencing. (Someone *cough*Brandon*cough* was impressed that I could look elsewhere when I type. I stated the fact that I type a lot. And he pointed out that I blog every single day. Massive amounts. "One post is about how much I blog in an entire YEAR!" Yup.)
Okay. I'm home now. The day's stories have been mostly told. I'm sure they will be told over and over again. I love youth group stories. And I'll tell you one right now.
Tonight, for our game, we had a Karaoke-off. Team 1 (Hannah, Katie, and Jessica) sang "In The Jungle", Team 2 (Sam, Matt, and Ashley) sang Leave (Get out) by Jojo... no one knew it well besides Brandon, and Team 3 (Me, Meg, and Connie) sang "A Whole New World."
Team 1 won, probably because of Hannah's harmonizing. But I think I had the most fun singing "A Whole New World" because it has to be one of my favorite Disney songs. In fact, because I love it so much, it's going to be a YouTube video today! BOOYAHHHHH. You might have to turn it up a little bit. But that's okay. It's sooooo worth it!

Okay. So for NIPTO tonight, we read through Revelation 2:18-29 18"To the angel of the church in Thyatira write:
These are the words of the Son of God, whose eyes are like blazing fire and whose feet are like burnished bronze. 19I know your deeds, your love and faith, your service and perseverance, and that you are now doing more than you did at first. 20Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols. 21I have given her time to repent of her immorality, but she is unwilling. 22So I will cast her on a bed of suffering, and I will make those who commit adultery with her suffer intensely, unless they repent of her ways. 23I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds. 24Now I say to the rest of you in Thyatira, to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan's so-called deep secrets (I will not impose any other burden on you): 25Only hold on to what you have until I come. 26To him who overcomes and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations— 27'He will rule them with an iron scepter;

Okay. Just in case you've forgotten how the "Revelation structure/outline" goes, here's a brief rundown: Intro/who Jesus is, where the church currently is, overcomer statement. (That's basically it.) This was one of the verses that stuck out to me. God knows what's goin' on. He knows when we're going through tough things and we stay faithful. Which is amazing. He knows when we're trying and when we're not. He knows when we're not being challenged enough, and he'll give us something that might seem like too much. But it never is! Crazy.
20Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols.21I have given her time to repent of her immorality, but she is unwilling. 22So I will cast her on a bed of suffering, and I will make those who commit adultery with her suffer intensely, unless they repent of her ways.
Something that was a pattern in every single letter that Jesus is writing through John was a call to repentance. Repentance was something that we talked about a lot tonight. If the people reading these letters hadn't realized that this was about repentance, they probably would've gotten it then. Because this was crazzzzy. Like. Seriously. Keep reading. It gets crazier.
23I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds.
Are you serious, John?!?! Striking children dead?!?! Yes. Striking the children of the one who didn't repent dead. Notice verse 21. That's not in this section. But scroll up. Read it. Go. Now. Okay, are you back? yeah. okay. good. It says that he gave her time to repent. But she didn't. Then all the churches will know that I am he who searches hearts and minds. UHM. RIDICULOUS! God is crazy ridiculous. He searches hearts and minds. "... and I will repay each of you according to your deeds." That, my dear readers, is called judgment. Earlier tonight, I wrote this: God is judging by proving that he saw hearts and minds. He wasn't messing around. God doesn't play games. He was serious. And it's true. It's important to remember that one day we will stand accountable for our actions. And if we haven't accepted the fact that Jesus died to save us, we will be punished for our actions. But if we believe that Jesus died for us, he'll step in between and take our punishment. He already took our punishment while he was hanging on the cross. He died so we wouldn't have to. Ridiculous.
24Now I say to the rest of you in Thyatira, to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan's so-called deep secrets (I will not impose any other burden on you): 25Only hold on to what you have until I come.
He's basically saying "Keep on keepin' on!" You're doing well so far. Just keep doing what you're doing. Hold on to what you have. Hold on until I come. I'm coming. [As surely as the sun will rise, you'll come for us. Certain as the dawn appears]

Then there's this mysterious "morning star" thing. Hannah is supposed to be googling/reading up/researching that this week. I'll let you know if she finds anything interesting. As Brandon said "if it's something we're getting, we might want to know what it is!" Amen to that! haha
29He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. Do you have ears? Yeah. Okay. Then you have no excuse to not hear what the Spirit said to the churches. Because it's there. All you have to do is listen.

So the picture of Jesus that is presented to this church has eyes like blazing fire. We were talking about how this really kind of corresponds to verse 23. His eyes that are like blazing fire search our hearts and minds. I think it's a crazy kind of picture to imagine. But does that make sense? Would you agree with that?
One of the heavily discussed points tonight was Forgiveness vs. Repentance. Is God's forgiveness conditional based on repentance? What's your opinion? I have a few answers that I'll probably throw into tomorrow's post, or next week's post. (I think I might start a tag that's something along the lines of NIPTO Sundays or something like that so all of these Revelation posts go together for easy referencing.)
That's all for tonight. The talk at Encounter was interesting. We're going through the Summer Lovin' series. It's about sex and relationships and whatnot. Tonight was about homosexuality. There were some interesting points brought up. I'm not going to address anything right now. Because it's late and I want to sleep. (Speaking of Summer Lovin', last year we did a "Late Night Encounter" where we watched a movie and discussed the theme of love throughout it. This movie just happened to be one of my favorite movies of all time. Do you know what it is?
The Princess Bride. And I was reminded of it because I have this gorgeous black&white photograph of Westley and Buttercup standing together before Westley leaves to sail the ocean blue. And it's so cute. And it reminds me of love. (Is this a Kissing Book?) And that's all. Well. Not quite. If you've never seen The Princess Bride, GO GET IT. Or ask me to borrow it. We have the VHS and DVD. Soooo you can borrow one or the other :) Okay. Now I'm done with that)
Today, when we drove to church, it was SUPER foggy. Like, when we drove over the bridge in Akron, you couldn't see anything. It was like driving through a white tunnel! It was crazy! I wish I had gotten my camera out to take pictures, but I didn't. Speaking of pictures, I'll try to put the grad party pictures up on facebook tomorrow. I'll link them here. It takes too much time to upload them all on here. But I'll try to write a post about the party. Because it was awesome!
