Hmmm...

Today was a good day.

I got up, ate breakfast, got ready for work, and went to work.
Work was CRAZY. It was so so so busy! It was the first Saturday morning/afternoon I've ever worked. I did work last Saturday in the late afternoon/evening.

But yes, it was crazy busy. I feel like I used up all of my words for the day in the 5 hours that I worked. It was actually kinda fun. There was definitely a lot of talking and voiding involved.
If you come to Panera, I'll try to get your order the first time. Just be patient. Gimme a little bit of time :)

After work, I came home and ate my jalapeño cheddar bagel and drank my Dr. Pepper.

Ermmmm........ yeah.

The Karen girls were over... we played Apples to Apples for a while.

They went home around 5:30...

We had grilled cheese for dinner, and now we're watching Chuck (third episode of the night!), and I had half of my pecan roll that I got today. So yes. It has been a gooood day.

Tomorrow is church and youth group and some more Chuck probably...

Lil Sibs Weekend

Hey!
Last weekend was an exciting one, however I'm a terrible blogger and haven't recorded it here! We (Me, EDD, EDP, ELT, and ENT) went to Kent State for what the title of this post clearly states: Lil' Sibs Weekend!
It was SO much fun!

Friday after I got home from babysitting, I finished packing up all my stuff and Mom, Dad, and I headed to Urban Vision to pick the girls up! On the way there (about half way), we realized that we had forgotten the release forms that their parents had signed and it was going to be impossible to turn around, get the forms, and get back in time to pick the girls up and get to Kent on time to get signed in.

So we decided that we were going to try to print some more and have their parents sign them again.
We got to Urban Vision and picked the girls up, Dad ran in and started the process of printing the papers. It took longer than expected, but we still managed to leave Akron around the time that we thought we would. And their forms got signed! So no worries there.

We got to Kent and picked up Hannah at her dorm and then headed to Eastway to sign in. It was CRAZY busy, however there was no one in the S-Z last name sign-in line! Which was a miracle. So we got signed in, got wristbands, and headed out. We started handing out t-shirts and realized that they had given us the wrong t-shirt sizes! So Hannah and Mom ran back in an got the correct t-shirt sizes and then it was off to dinner!

We ate at the Student Center (aka The Hub) and it was delishus. After dinner we said goodbye to the 'rents and headed back to Hannah's dorm where there was some Wii goin' on. We were a leetle beet confused and played Ninja for a while, but then Hannah realized where we actually needed to be, so we relocated and played Wii for a little bit. After a while more people showed up and Hannah and a couple of the girls had gone to a friend's room down the hall, so the few of us who were left relocated to P's room and hung out there for a bit and did some arts/crafts. So that was fun! P is an extremely nice person who knew the girls from Urban Vision.

After we left P's room, we went back to Hannah's room and got ready for bed and watched Despicable Me/fell asleep. I was in the "fell asleep" category. College will kill me. I'm quite certain of it!

In the morning we (Hannah and I!) slept in as much as possible and then got up and ate breakfast in Hannah's room. After brekkers we headed out to Centennial Field where some stuff was supposed to be happening. There was sand-art, pictures, and a face-painting station. Around 11 there was a guy from the Akron Zoo there with a few animals, so we saw that. He had a python (GORGEOUS), a parrot (very funny and cute, however I would never want to own one), and a scorpion (whose sting was less lethal than a bee sting! Interesting, eh?).

After all that stuff we headed back to Hannah's room to get changed for SWIMMING, what EDP was so excited about!
They all got changed (Eh Ler and I didn't because she wasn't feeling well) and we headed to the Rec center. We ate lunch there (we had tickets for a free lunch... which consisted of a hot-dog, a bag of chips, and a can of pop. Yay?) and then Eh Ler and I walked back to Hannah's room and watched Alice In Wonderland. After that, Eh Ler took a nap and I had a quiet time and watched part of How To Train Your Dragon.
They got back from swimming around 4 o'clock and showered and whatnot and then we headed to DINNER.

We ate dinner at Eastway with Michelle. We talked and laughed a whole lot! There was a group of h2o people eating there as well, so Kait and Maegan came over and talked to us for a while.

We sat in our corner booth after dinner for about an hour and played cards and then headed to the Kiva for Tangled!

We stood in the lobby for a while because they hadn't opened the doors yet. Yes, we were early, but we didn't want to not get seats. It had seemed like a lot of people were going to see Tangled, so we wanted to get there early. They opened the doors and we sat down (three (EDP, EDD, ENT) in front of three (Me, Eh Ler, Hannah) so we didn't take up as much room, or w/e). Hannah Yurk came and sat by us... she also knows the girls from Urban Vision! (It was crazy how many people they knew hah!)

We watched Tangled, which was AMAZING even the third time around. I love love love this movie and hope that I receive it tomorrow for my birthday!
It was fantastic.

After Tangled we headed to the car where Mom and Dad were waiting for us! We went back to Hannah's room and gathered our stuff and went home.

It was a great, tiring weekend full of laughter!

TRUTH: I can be a slacker.

My sister kindly posted on my wall (and I read the e-mail that got sent to my, well, e-mail. I'm off Facebook until next Saturday.) and told me that she doesn't know what's going on in my life if I don't blog.
Hence, I'm blogging, and I'm a slacker.

Last time I blogged... was on Friday? But that wasn't even really a complete blog post. That was a Five Minute Friday. So... the last time I blogged was... LAST Monday. Errr. Yeah. I'm a slacker. I started a post, but never finished it.
Here's what I had written so far:

Not much has been happening minus minor heath issues. But even that's not that much.

Monday-Didn't feel good. Had heartburn.
Tuesday-Lightheaded, dizzy, sinus headache, generally not feeling good.
Wednesday- Almost completely better.

That was it so far. We ended up not going to Urban Vision/Ballet because I knew that I couldn't teach/help out at UV much, and Mom wasn't feeling well either. And it was spring break for dance, so I didn't have to worry about that.

Wednesday I was almost completely fine. I went to school and everything. Went to bible study. That was about it for Wednesday I think.

Thursday I did school, babysat (and it feels like I had to fight him to read... but I don't remember. It obviously wasn't that bad!), and went to see Annie Jr. at the High school, put on by the Middle school. Sam and Matt (fellow youth groupies) were in it and it was really fun! I love musicals. There's just something about them that makes me very happy.

Friday I did school, babysat, and then the Rhorigs, Hares, and Horstmans came over. It was SO much fun! We ate dinner and whatnot and then all of us kids went downstairs and played Catchphrase and Wii Bowling. So that was fun. Eventually we all wandered upstairs and sat with the adults. And then people left. :(

Saturday I slept in... annnd... I don't really remember what I did in the morning/afternoon. The Karen girls came over. We hung out and stuff. Played outside some. Did some Sudoku. They went home and we ate dinner and then watched some Monk. And then we went to bed.

Sunday: Got up, went to Sunday School. Kay taught, which was fun! She talked about Crazy Love by Francis Chan, which is currently on hold for me at the library. Aaaaand then it was church time. And so we did that thing. haha. After church there was a chili luncheon. So we ate chili. And talked. And Jeremiah ate all of Nathan's fruit while he was getting something else. It was quite funny.
After church we came home and I finished painting the moon on our Space Pirates (v Navi) flag. We went on a walk. I went to Nazirite DNA. Which we actually didn't read. We ended up praying that entire time. And then we prayed some more. We started a prayer wall. Which I want to add to tonight while I'm at my bible study! Then there was youth group.Which was fun, as always.
We ended up staying until almost 9 (an hour after youth group ends) taking pictures on BK's computer. HILARIOUS. I love those people. Well, at that point it was me, Kayla, Aliza, Sam, Erin, and Brandon. But we eventually left. Haha. Then Dad and I took Kayla home. Annnnd then I typed up my lit questions and watched Undercover Boss and then went to bed.

Monday: Got up, went to school. Did school in study hall. Ate taco salad for lunch. Talked to Christopher and Kaitlyn! They came to visit Julia because they're on spring break this week. So that was fun.
Then Lit class. And SAT. Those were pretty normal.
Came home. And I'm pretty sure I was on the computer the rest of the day? Don't really remember. I think we watched more Monk because Chuck was not on this week. Went to bed.

Tuesday (yesterday!): Got up, got ready, went to Panera with Katie, went to Pet Supplies Plus to get food for Rigby, Katie's snake, and then came home. Did a little school, went back up to Panera to introduce myself to their hiring manager. Came home. Did more school. Watched Make it or Break it during lunch. Yay! Went to Urban Vision (Gym, Reading, Gym, Computer Lab-math, Dinner (pasta), Reading, homework)

I went up to the ballet studio about half an hour before class started to finish choreographing their dance and to prep a little bit. Ballet class was altogether toooooo short. We have 6 (probably 7) classes (if I have one during spring break) left before their performance. *Cue freak out* haha

After ballet I went to dance. We learned more of Black&Gold (Jazz dance) and worked a WHOLE lot on Aha! It's going to be such a good dance. It's a creepy doll dance. And we're creepy all right. It's so good. Haha

After dance I came home and crashed.

Today I got up, got ready, went to Spanish class. Spanish was different today because we worked on our Ejercicios on our own/in groups but without Mrs. Jones. So. That was interesting. And probably a whole lot less productive than if Mrs. Jones had been helping us, but I think it was good for us to do them on our own.
Kind of. When she told us that she wasn't helping, Sean looked at me and was like "Okay, Abby, give us all the answers!" And I told him that they might have to do the exercises "sin migo tambien" haha (without me too).
After Spanish was study hall... where I did almost all of my school. Then Mom came. And took me home for reasons which you will find out in a moment.

I ate lunch/watched an episode of Monk. Finished Physics. Had a bit o' a quiet time. Got dressed in my interview clothing and went to Chipotle. They had open interviews today, so I went! Unfortunately, I did not get a job. You have to be 18 to work there. Which seems slightly dumb, but it's the rules. So I came home and caught up on blogs a bit and now I'm writing this! After this... I might watch a movie or some TV. Chillax, you know.

A Whirlwind of a weekend

This weekend has been semi crazy.

On Friday night, Kayla-la and I went to The620's Pre-pirate-navi-party. We made our flag, crest, and chant and whatnot. It was super fun :) I like those people. And it was fun to introduce Kayla to those people! And she goes to school with  one of the girls, which was kinda fun :) So we did all that and then we watched Starwars Episode 4: A New Hope.
When it was all over, we stayed for... an hour? after it was over and watched YouTube videos.
Do yourself a favor, and go listen to some Boyce Avenue. This video is a good one to start off. I would also recommend "Yellow." AMAZING stuff. Sam OH knows where all the good music's at! :)

We took Kaylala home and then I went to bed.

Got up Saturday morning and took a practice SAT... and did a whole lot worse than the one I took last week.
But I'm blaming it on the fact that I didn't get enough sleep. Or w/e.

Then the Karen girls came over. And we ate lunch and whatnot. They played spoons and a couple of them worked on homework with Mom.
We had cake to celebrate BeBin's birthday :) She's turning 11 on Tuesday. Craziness.

Then Dad and I took them to their respective homes and came home, and half an hour later Mom&Dad's small group came over! The kids (and I) ate dinner and headed down to the basement so the adults could eat and have their biblestudy. We watched Cinderella and the beginning of Mary Poppins.
They were good. It all worked out.

Then I went to bed. Because it was all of 9 o'clock. And I had to take a shower and whatnot.

Got up this morning and went to music practice, practiced, did the first service, went to sunday school, which was awesome btdubs, then finished the first service, went back to sunday school. And then the second service. T'was super good. You should go watch the video. That probably isn't up yet.
But yes.

Then we dropped a meal off at someone's house. And then came home.

I ate lunch and re-converted a couple videos for Brandon.
And now I'm blogging. And will leave in a few minutes for Nazarite DNA and half of the prayer&worship time and then IMPACT.

So. This has been my weekend.

NIPTO, Day 363

Haayy (is for horses!).

I took a practice ACT. That I would very much like to forget. Thenn the Karen girls came over. And we ate lunch, played spoons a bit, went sledding. I love sledding. It's so much fun! Then I came in and helped Mom&Eh Ler with a couple of math problems.
We watched Coraline soon after that and then Skyped with Hannah for a bit. And by a bit I mean 30 minutes. Or 40. And then everyone left. Then I made brownies and did dishes. And listened to The Civil Wars. Then Mom&Dad got home and we at dinner (grilled cheese with left over Donotos pizza). Now we're watching The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. WEIRD. Strange strange movie.
But it seems good... so far.

2 Timothy 1:1-5

¹ Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, in keeping with the promise of life that is in Christ Jesus,

Paul was an apostle (who wrote the last letter to Timothy. This is his second letter to Timothy). He was keeping with the promise of life, that is to say, Jesus, in writing this.

 ² To Timothy, my dear son:

   Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

Paul's letters to fellow brothers/sisters in Christ always seem to start with grace, mercy, and peace from God. When reading this we need to be filled with grace, mercy, and peace. And that'll come from God.

 ³ I thank God, whom I serve, as my ancestors did, with a clear conscience, as night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers. ⁴ Recalling your tears, I long to see you, so that I may be filled with joy.


When Paul would remember Timothy, he would thank God. God was who he served. And who his ancestors served. And he could thank God for Timothy with a clear conscience. Paul wanted to see Timothy so he could be joyful. Seeing/being with other brothers and sisters is cause for great joy.




⁵ I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.


When praying for Timothy, Paul would remember his faith. The faith that Timothy's grandmother, Lois, and his mother, Eunice. Paul was convinced/persuaded that Timothy had that faith as well.

I'm going to sign off and keep watching this... strange movie. 
We're doing music in the morning and after Church is our Soup-er Bowl Sunday... and after that is the 620. Tomorrow should be a busy day. After all that stuff is the actual Super Bowl... during which I'll do homework (I'll try to finish my homework before the game starts) and watch commercials.

NIPTO, Day 237

Today:
I took a practice PSAT. Did... better than last time. By like... 16 points? A pretty big improvement, but still not where I want it to be...

And that's all I've done so far. I'm sitting with a shivering dog next to me. Because she got a hair cut yesterday. And my parents haven't turned on the heat yet. (Hence shivering dog... and my cold feet! Literally.)
So we sit and shiver. And I blog... or figure out what to blog about.
Okay. After looking at the rest of Joshua, I'm skipping chapters 14-19 and chapter 21. They're all about who gets what land. And that's not really relevant to what I usually blog about! And I might skip some more... we'll see.

Cue about... 11 hours passing! (About 12 pm to 11pm)

Eh Ler and Ehne Thau came over and we at lunch, Mom and Eh Ler worked on OGT stuff, Ehne Thau and I played the memory matching game, picked out a movie, and then we watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I took a shower... annnd got ready... annd played piano for a bit? ... got ready some more... got my apple! Dried some dishes, and went to the Fall Extravaganza party at The620!
It was fun. I got there... and helped put some stuff out.. played air hocky with Ricky, Ashley, and Jessica... danced, played Uno with Meghan, Ashley, Jessica, and Ricky... danced some more... made caramel apples, watched The Goonies and ate pizza... played charades (and lost D= ), had a dance off, and cleaned up. It was a good time. :)

I had fun. And now I am very tired. And would kinda like to go to bed. BUT I told myself I would blog (NIPTO, not just... blog.) every. day. Soooooo here I am.

Joshua 20:1-9 (GO!)
¹ Then the LORD said to Joshua: ² "Tell the Israelites to designate the cities of refuge, as I instructed you through Moses, ³so that anyone who kills a person accidentally and unintentionally may flee there and find protection from the avenger of blood.


This is interesante to me (Bad Spanish. I know.)
God commanded them to create cities as refuges for anyone who accidentally killed someone else. They could go there and they would be protected.\

⁴ "When he flees to one of these cities, he is to stand in the entrance of the city gate and state his case before the elders of that city. Then they are to admit him into their city and give him a place to live with them. ⁵ If the avenger of blood pursues him, they must not surrender the one accused, because he killed his neighbor unintentionally and without malice aforethought. ⁶ He is to stay in that city until he has stood trial before the assembly and until the death of the high priest who is serving at that time. Then he may go back to his own home in the town from which he fled."

There were rules that were set up for when this person fled to the city. They were supposed to stand at the gate of the city and tell the elders why they were there. The elders were obligated to give them a place to live as the city they lived in was a designated city for refugees. 

If the "avenger of blood" came after the person, they were not supposed to surrender them. Because what he did was an accident. 

The refugee was to stay in that city until he had had a proper trial and until the high priest who was serving at the time died. 

Then he would be allowed to go back to his home town. 

 ⁷ So they set apart Kedesh in Galilee in the hill country of Naphtali, Shechem in the hill country of Ephraim, and Kiriath Arba (that is, Hebron) in the hill country of Judah. ⁸ On the east side of the Jordan of Jericho they designated Bezer in the desert on the plateau in the tribe of Reuben, Ramoth in Gilead in the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan in the tribe of Manasseh. ⁹ Any of the Israelites or any alien living among them who killed someone accidentally could flee to these designated cities and not be killed by the avenger of blood prior to standing trial before the assembly.



These were the cities that they designated in the different areas. Anyone who accidentally killed someone else could go to one of these cities and be safe. 
It's an interesting concept that we don't really have today. Because we have a judicial system who can find someone guilty or not guilty. 
But I still find it fascinating!

NIPTO, Day 223

Today is... another day.

Got up. Took a practice PSAT. Did horribly on the math section (I fail at math sections on standardized tests.) Did pretty well on Critical Reading (CR) and Writing. I'm about 30 points away from the score that I want. Maybe 40. I'm going for 30 for now. 

Then hustled to get ready for the day and then went to Kent to visit my sisters! We picked up 4 of the Karen girls (Eh Dah Doe, Eh Ler Tha, Hser Ler Moo, and Youslena).

We ate lunch in the Bridge Lounge where they have Brownie Night on Tuesdays (I think it always smells like brownies in the kitchen. AWESOMESAUCE!) And thennn we went to Gabriel Brothers. I got a new pair of earbuds that I like very much. I'm using them right now :)

We stopped at Arby's on the way home and got "seven Jamocha Shakes." The guy was like, "Are there seven people in the car?" because he could only see Mom and Dad. Awesome! hahah Very funny.

Then we came home.... and I went through facebook, twitter, and blogs. As I always do. And now I think we might walk and eat? I don't know. I'm listening to Family Force 5. (Dance or Die... with a Vengeance)

I get to spend the whole day with Kayla-la tomorrow! YAY! I'm excited. I hope we get to herd cats made of jell-o. (It's kind of an inside joke. If you look at my posts that are labeled "Life Training (LT)" you might find something about cats made of jell-o. :)

Annd I guess it's time for NIPTO. Because I'm out of things to talk about.

Acts 3:1-17

¹ Early in the morning Joshua and all the Israelites set out from Shittim and went to the Jordan, where they camped before crossing over.

One morning everyone set out for the Jordan. They camped there for a while. Three days to be exact. (How do I know that? read on. =P)

² After three days the officers went throughout the camp, ³ giving orders to the people: "When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests, who are Levites, carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it. ⁴ Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before. But keep a distance of about a thousand yards between you and the ark; do not go near it."

They camped for three days and then the officers went through and told everyone that when they saw the Ark pass, they could move out and follow. Then they'd know which way to go. But they had to stay away from the ark. They couldn't get close to it.

 ⁵ Joshua told the people, "Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you."

Joshua told the people to make themselves clean. Because God was going to do amazing things among them. It's so awesome that Joshua could promise that God was going to do amazing things.

 ⁶ Joshua said to the priests, "Take up the ark of the covenant and pass on ahead of the people." So they took it up and went ahead of them.

Joshua gave the priests (the people carrying the ark) the go ahead and they started off...

 ⁷ And the LORD said to Joshua, "Today I will begin to exalt you in the eyes of all Israel, so they may know that I am with you as I was with Moses. ⁸ Tell the priests who carry the ark of the covenant: 'When you reach the edge of the Jordan's waters, go and stand in the river.' "

God spoke to Joshua telling him that he would exalt him in the eyes of all Israel. That's a whole lot of people. And God told him that the people would know that God was with him as he was with Moses. 

God told him to tell the priests to carry the ark to go to the edge of the Jordan River and stand in the river.

 ⁹ Joshua said to the Israelites, "Come here and listen to the words of the LORD your God. ¹⁰ This is how you will know that the living God is among you and that he will certainly drive out before you the Canaanites, Hittites, Hivites, Perizzites, Girgashites, Amorites and Jebusites. ¹¹ See, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth will go into the Jordan ahead of you. ¹² Now then, choose twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one from each tribe. ¹³ And as soon as the priests who carry the ark of the LORD -the Lord of all the earth—set foot in the Jordan, its waters flowing downstream will be cut off and stand up in a heap."

Joshua told them to come listen. He told them that they would know that God was with them because he would drive out their enemies before their eyes.

He told them to look and see that the ark of the covenant was going into the river ahead of them. Then they were to choose twelve men. One from each tribe. And as soon as the priests stepped in the water, the river was going to "be cut off and stand up in a heap."

Uh. Wow. That's something I would've wanted to see. Or the parting of the Red Sea. Ya know.

 ¹⁴ So when the people broke camp to cross the Jordan, the priests carrying the ark of the covenant went ahead of them. ¹⁵Now the Jordan is at flood stage all during harvest. Yet as soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water's edge, ¹⁶ the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up in a heap a great distance away, at a town called Adam in the vicinity of Zarethan, while the water flowing down to the Sea of the Arabah (the Salt Sea) was completely cut off. So the people crossed over opposite Jericho.

So they broke camp and got to the Jordan. The priests went ahead of them. And I was right! The Jordan is flooded during the time that they were crossing. But as soon as the priests stepped into the water, it all piled up in a mass near some little town. (I wonder what the people in town thought...)

So they crossed the river to Jericho. No big deal. 

¹⁷ The priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan, while all Israel passed by until the whole nation had completed the crossing on dry ground.

The priests stood on dry ground the entire time... The entire nation crossed the Jordan River, during flood season, on dry ground.

Amazing.

And now I'm going to go on a walk and see if my best friend is home. :)

NIPTO, Day 211

Happy Labor Day everyone!
Today was fairly labor-free.
Got up... went through my New York pictures on Facebook and captioned all of them and tagged some of them.
The Karen girls came over... we helped them with some homework and ate lunch read for a little while then everyone but Hannah and me went to WalMart and then they came home and we ate cake and then Dad and I took them home.
I came home and was very tired... so I went up to my room and played guitar for a while... I haven't done that in a long time :)
Then we ate dinner, went on a walk, and now Katie and Hannah are packing up to go back to Kent and we'll leave soon to go take them back to school.
Then I'll sleep, I'm guessing. :)

It's now 11. And I'm tired. Katie and Hannah are back at Kent. Annnd now I'm going to do this NIPTO thing and go to bed! That school gig is in the morning... =/

¹²The next morning the Jews formed a conspiracy and bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until they had killed Paul. ¹³More than forty men were involved in this plot. ¹⁴They went to the chief priests and elders and said, "We have taken a solemn oath not to eat anything until we have killed Paul. ¹⁵Now then, you and the Sanhedrin petition the commander to bring him before you on the pretext of wanting more accurate information about his case. We are ready to kill him before he gets here."


Whew. That's uh, intense. More than forty guys got together and vowed that they wouldn't eat or drink until Paul was dead. They made this pact or whatever and then went to the chief priests and elders and told them what they were going to do. They wanted them to bring Paul in front of the Sanhedrin in order to "get more accurate information" about what was going on, but they really just wanted to kill him.




 ¹⁶But when the son of Paul's sister heard of this plot, he went into the barracks and told Paul.
 ¹⁷Then Paul called one of the centurions and said, "Take this young man to the commander; he has something to tell him." ¹⁸So he took him to the commander.
      The centurion said, "Paul, the prisoner, sent for me and asked me to bring this young man to you because he has something to tell you."


Paul's nephew heard what was going on and went to the barracks and told Paul. Then Paul told one of the centurions to take his nephew to the commander.
The centurion introduced Paul's nephew to the commander.



 ¹⁹The commander took the young man by the hand, drew him aside and asked, "What is it you want to tell me?"
 ²⁰He said: "The Jews have agreed to ask you to bring Paul before the Sanhedrin tomorrow on the pretext of wanting more accurate information about him. ²¹Don't give in to them, because more than forty of them are waiting in ambush for him. They have taken an oath not to eat or drink until they have killed him. They are ready now, waiting for your consent to their request."
 ²²The commander dismissed the young man and cautioned him, "Don't tell anyone that you have reported this to me."


So the nephew tells the commander what's going on and the commander listens to him. So that's good.

Paul Transferred to Caesarea

 ²³Then he called two of his centurions and ordered them, "Get ready a detachment of two hundred soldiers, seventy horsemen and two hundred spearmen to go to Caesarea at nine tonight. ²⁴Provide mounts for Paul so that he may be taken safely to Governor Felix."


The commander called in some guys and told them to organized 470ish people to go to Caesarea with Paul. That's a lot of people. He was having him taken to the Governor, Felix. 




 ²⁵He wrote a letter as follows: ²⁶Claudius Lysias, To His Excellency, Governor Felix: Greetings. ²⁷This man was seized by the Jews and they were about to kill him, but I came with my troops and rescued him, for I had learned that he is a Roman citizen. ²⁸I wanted to know why they were accusing him, so I brought him to their Sanhedrin. ²⁹I found that the accusation had to do with questions about their law, but there was no charge against him that deserved death or imprisonment. ³⁰When I was informed of a plot to be carried out against the man, I sent him to you at once. I also ordered his accusers to present to you their case against him.


The commander wrote Felix a letter telling him what was going on with Paul. 



 ³¹So the soldiers, carrying out their orders, took Paul with them during the night and brought him as far as Antipatris.³²The next day they let the cavalry go on with him, while they returned to the barracks. ³³When the cavalry arrived in Caesarea, they delivered the letter to the governor and handed Paul over to him.


The soldiers took Paul halfwayish and then left and the cavalry took him the rest of the way and then went home.
When they got to Caesarea they delivered the letter to Felix and went on their way.




³⁴The governor read the letter and asked what province he was from. Learning that he was from Cilicia, ³⁵he said, "I will hear your case when your accusers get here." Then he ordered that Paul be kept under guard in Herod's palace.


Felix read over the letter and asked where he was from. When Paul told him he agreed to protect him.

And now I'm going to go to sleep. Cuz there's that school gig in the morning. And it kinda cuts into the day. So does sleep, though.

NIPTO, Day 172

Today is just an ordinary day.


Got up... finished Shiver. (A faaantastic book.)




Mom, Hannah, and I washed the hardwood floors. Mom's cleaned the carpet. I went outside and read a book in the sunshine. Then I came in (after getting pooped on by a bird (just a tiny bit on my arm)) and took a shower (not because of the bird poop, though). Then we went to pick up:

We ate and played outside at the playground... I played a game of Euchre with Rachel, Nathan, and Erin... (Nathan and I won!) Annnnd we played Ninja and various other games.

It was a good time. We didn't get home until late... annnd now I'm blogging. But I get to sleep in tomorrow morning! YAY!

Acts 10:9-23
⁹About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray. ¹⁰He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance.


Okay. Soooo they're traveling and they went to a city and Peter goes up to this roof to pray. He's praying and he gets hungry. Soooo there's a meal being prepared, but Peter falls into a trance. Kinda strange.




¹¹He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. ¹²It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles of the earth and birds of the air. ¹³Then a voice told him, "Get up, Peter. Kill and eat."


Peter sees heaven open and... I'm repeating exactly what it says. 
It doesn't seem that strange for the voice to tell him to "kill and eat." But all of these thing were things that they weren't allowed to eat for "religious reasons."


  ¹⁴"Surely not, Lord!" Peter replied. "I have never eaten anything impure or unclean."
 ¹⁵The voice spoke to him a second time, "Do not call anything impure that God has made clean."
 ¹⁶This happened three times, and immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven.
Soo Peter tells God, "Look. I've never eaten anything that's not clean/pure." And the voice is like, "Don't call anything that God made unclean. God made everything clean."
And that happened 3 times and then the sheet thingy went back up into heaven. Innnteresting. 


  ¹⁷While Peter was wondering about the meaning of the vision, the men sent by Cornelius found out where Simon's house was and stopped at the gate. ¹⁸They called out, asking if Simon who was known as Peter was staying there.
Peter's all like, "woah... what just happened? What does it all mean?" The guys who were sent by Cornelius found his house and they asked if he was staying there. 


  ¹⁹While Peter was still thinking about the vision, the Spirit said to him, "Simon, three men are looking for you. ²⁰So get up and go downstairs. Do not hesitate to go with them, for I have sent them."
So Pete's still thinking. And then the Holy Spirit tells him that there are 3 guys looking for him and that he should go get ready for company. And that he shouldn't be hesitant about going with them. Because the Spirit told him that he sent them.


  ²¹Peter went down and said to the men, "I'm the one you're looking for. Why have you come?"
 ²²The men replied, "We have come from Cornelius the centurion. He is a righteous and God-fearing man, who is respected by all the Jewish people. A holy angel told him to have you come to his house so that he could hear what you have to say." ²³Then Peter invited the men into the house to be his guests.
So Peter goes downstairs and tells the guys that he's the one that they've been looking for and asks them why they're there. They tell him about Cornelius and that he wants to hear what Peter has to say. So Peter invites them in to be his guests. 



And that's all for tonight, folks! I need to get ready for bed... I think we might be going shopping tomorrow for Hannah's college stuff. FUN!
