Five Minute Friday - Deep Breath

Five Minute Friday. A time to WRITE for five minutes flat, post what ya got, and link up over here.
Go check out the other Five Minute Friday posts, too!

Today's prompt: Deep Breath

Deep breath.
Honestly, I'm taking a deep breath as I jump into this post.
I haven't blogged in 12 days. That's almost TWO weeks, people! I'm such a slacker.
But taking deep breaths helps me slow down.
For example, I take deep breaths before going to work, before diving into the craziness that is the bakery-cafe I work at. I love that place. But I'm taking deep breaths just thinking about my shift tomorrow. It's the first lunch shift I work, and I'm nervous. I'm afraid I'll make a mistake. But when I think that way I need to take a deep breath and let my Savior lead me. He'll drive out my fear. He'll help me not make mistakes. I firmly believe that.
Deep breath.
I take deep breaths before I dance, before I perform. The recital is coming up and sometimes I just have to take deep breaths. Deep breaths are calming. Deep breaths slow your heart rate and stop your blood from pumping quite so hard.
Deep breath.
I take a deep breath as I try to suppress jealousy and ugly feelings. Take a deep breath and let it all go. Let the negativity out with that deep breath.
Take a deep breath. Right now. Calming, isn't it?
Deep breaths make me think of a sleeping baby... that little stutter in their breath, that deep sigh. Sometimes I wish life were like that... that I could be a baby again. Wouldn't that be nice?
But alas, I'm a teenager. A teenager with a busy life and a busy schedule who sometimes needs to STOP. And take a deep breath.

Time.

Thanks for taking the time to read my five minutes of word vomit! (That's about what it feels like... haha!)

Stopping by from 5 Minute Friday ... Isn't it a great reminder to lean on the Savior? Just take a deep breath and rest in Him. :)

Lovely post, Abby. And blessings as you work tomorrow and dance - whenever! Thanks for these good words that ring true for all of us - even if we don't dance, even if we don't work at a bakery-cafe.

Hope your work went well. You are right we do need to take deep breaths all day long to just get through stuff. I hope your recital goes well - breathe - you will be amazing. Nicks
