NIPTO, Day 219

Oh my goodness. I feel like such a wimp right now. My legs are burrrrrning. Thanks, Amy! haha :)
Jazz was one of the hardest things I've done in a LONG time... but still super fun! And then Modern was nice because it was something I knew. The warmup came straight back to me and it was awesome. I couldn't do the fan-kicks right because my thighs hurt... but I think that'll go away with time.
We started working on the Jazz Finale and a little bit on one of the Modern dances... Amy's still not sure if it's our dance or the other class's dance, but we worked on it nonetheless.
And my legs hurt. And I'm questioning whether I'm going to be able to walk tomorrow!

Did school today... that was fine. Got almost everything done. (Didn't get lit done, but that's okay. I'll have a lot of time tomorrow.)
Went to Urban Vision... was in the gym, did one on one (reading) with Eh Mu Ye, did one on one (reading) with Kyra, went to help with Art, ate dinner (fried chicken, jojos, green beans with ham), helped with art, helped Blute Law Lah with her homework a little (barely) and helped Eh Gayya Too with his homework. And Eh Mu Ye with some sentences. And then came home. Got ready for dance. Drove to dance. Died. Did not drive home from dance for fear of actually dying.

And NOW NIPTO. Because I need to shower and sleep and get up for Spanish tomorrow morning!

Acts 28:1-16
1Once safely on shore, we found out that the island was called Malta. 2The islanders showed us unusual kindness. They built a fire and welcomed us all because it was raining and cold. 3Paul gathered a pile of brushwood and, as he put it on the fire, a viper, driven out by the heat, fastened itself on his hand. 4When the islanders saw the snake hanging from his hand, they said to each other, "This man must be a murderer; for though he escaped from the sea, Justice has not allowed him to live." 5But Paul shook the snake off into the fire and suffered no ill effects. 6The people expected him to swell up or suddenly fall dead, but after waiting a long time and seeing nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and said he was a god.

They got to shore after the shipwreck and they were welcomed with "unusual kindness."
They built a fire because it was cold and rainy. Paul got some wood to put on the fire, and as he was putting it on a snake bit his hand. Ouch.
The islanders all thought that Paul must really be guilty because he escaped from a shipwreck only to be bitten by a snake. But he didn't die. He didn't even swell up. There were no effects.
The people thought he was going to fall dead at any second, but he didn't. So they decided he was a god.
Not a great thing to decide about Paul! haha

7There was an estate nearby that belonged to Publius, the chief official of the island. He welcomed us to his home and for three days entertained us hospitably. 8His father was sick in bed, suffering from fever and dysentery. Paul went in to see him and, after prayer, placed his hands on him and healed him. 9When this had happened, the rest of the sick on the island came and were cured. 10They honored us in many ways and when we were ready to sail, they furnished us with the supplies we needed.

The chief guy on the island had a house near by an welcomed them into his home for three days. His, Publius, the guy who owned the house, father was sick. Paul went to see him, prayed for him and healed him. Then all the other sick people on the island came to see Paul and he healed them. They honored the shipwrecked people and gave them what they needed once they were ready to sail again.

Arrival at Rome
11After three months we put out to sea in a ship that had wintered in the island. It was an Alexandrian ship with the figurehead of the twin gods Castor and Pollux.

They stayed on the island for three months and finally set out towards Rome.

12We put in at Syracuse and stayed there three days. 13From there we set sail and arrived at Rhegium. The next day the south wind came up, and on the following day we reached Puteoli.14There we found some brothers who invited us to spend a week with them. And so we came to Rome.

They stayed in Syracuse for three days and then went to Rhegium and Puteoli. And they found brothers (and sisters, I'm assuming :) and spent some time with them and then headed to Rome!

15The brothers there had heard that we were coming, and they traveled as far as the Forum of Appius and the Three Taverns to meet us. At the sight of these men Paul thanked God and was encouraged. 16When we got to Rome, Paul was allowed to live by himself, with a soldier to guard him.

The brothers in Rome had heard that they were coming and traveled to meet them. When Paul saw them he thanked God and was encouraged. It's so awesome how just seeing people can encourage you! :)
Once they were in Rome, Paul was allowed to live with himself... basically. He had a guard. But that's not a big deal.

I think tomorrow will finish off Acts for me! Which is kinda insane :)

I'm going to go shower and get a heating pad (for my legs or back... I'm not sure which needs it more yet...) and go to SLEEP. While listening to Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (♥) I love that book. And I love Jim Dale. he's fantastic!
And now I'm going to go do what I just said I was going to do.
