NIPTO, Day 94

Wow. Lots of things are happening today! Well... maybe not lots of things, but some things :)

One of those things is MY SISTER IS COMING HOME TODAY! (she's leaving again on Saturday, but we're not talking about that right now!) So that's exciting!
Annd there's the usual piano and dance stuff today too :) It should definitely be a fun day. (Minus school, but whatever. That shouldn't take too long... if I don't procrastinate... which I'm awful about... heh.)

Today is still a little dreary, but it's definitely not as bad as it was yesterday. It's not raining today! YAY! Maybe the sun will come out... (the sun will come out tomorrow... Bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow there'll be SUN!)

AH. Distracted. Good post on Stuff Christians Like this morning... kind of about distraction. Heh. It was about Believing The 2-Star Review too often. It was a good post. It's linked :) Go read it. Beware: It might not be as funny... it's a Serious Wednesday post!

NIPTOOOO or just N'O =P I'm doing something that is very unusual for me... I'm mixing chapters! *gasp* I know. Crazy. But it works itself out. So
Romans 9:30-10:5
30What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith; 31but Israel, who pursued a law of righteousness, has not attained it

Sooo the Gentiles were the "YAY we don't even pursue righteousness, but we got it by faith anyways!" people... and the Israelites were the "We have the law. Don't say 'Yay.' We pursue righteousness but we don't get it. Boooo" people... or something like that. Ready for what's next? I don't think you are...

32Why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the "stumbling stone." 33As it is written:
"See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes men to stumble
and a rock that makes them fall,
and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame."

Why not? Why shouldn't we say that? They did pursue faith... but the pursued it like the faith was works. The tripped. Ouch. There are rocks in life that will make us trip. But we don't always have to fall. Sometimes we do. But even if we fall, if we trust in God, there will be no shame. It's just kinda cool *shrugs shoulders*

10 1Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved.

Every Christian's desire and prayer should be for other people to be saved. It's kinda simple. But not really. There are so many things that intrude on our desires in the world. There are so many stinkin' material things that take up our desires. What if we were able to get rid of those and fully strive to know God and to want what we have for others? Wouldn't that be amazing??

2For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge.

These people loved God. They were zealous for God. But they were kind of clueless. Read on...

3Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness.

They didn't know that righteousness was from God and only God. They were like "Hey! Righteousness... I think I know how to get that!" (Note: that was said in a Rob Bell voice. (He has a good voice for stuff like that =P (Think of the "Hey... what was that?" "I don't know... I think it might've been a ring" if you've ever seen Everything Is Spiritual, you'll probably know what I'm talking about))) But they had to submit to God to obtain righteousness. But they didn't.

4Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.

Oooo I like this! I like this a lot! I love the Bible... in case you didn't know. I've loved reading it every day... and reading to change, not just to finish. I can say that I've read the Bible several times... but it was just to finish. This time, I'm reading the Bible to change. And it's fantastic!
Jesus (Christ) ended the law. When he died on the cross, the curtain separating the Holy Place and the rest of the temple ripped. Before that, the Holy Spirit had kind of been semi contained in that Holy Place. Now it was fully available to everyone. SWEEEET. So now righteousness is available. To anyone. Crazy awesomee =D

I mentioned yesterday that Brandon's sister was having surgery. Facebook reports that it went well! If you would continue to pray for Chante and their family that would be awesome! Prayers are always appreciated :)

It's time for me to eat and get started on school. School shouldn't take me long. Which is good. Because I need to be a Surprise Pack Yack! (What the Yackleys are called when moving the sister in and out of college/when she comes home for the weekend/whenever we carry stuff. LOTS of stuff. When this happens, it's called a Surprise Pack Yack Attack! Fun to say, isn't it? (You just said it out loud. If you didn't, you should! haha))
So... I hope you have a good day!

DUDE! I almost forgot! 100 Days of Holiness! Day 10! Check it outtt. It's sweet.
Alrighty!
Bye!
