Today... was... semi eventful!
Angie brought Derek and Emily over so she could take the other two to drs appts. So we watched Cars and I tried to get stuff done, but didn't really... Eventually ate lunch and did school stuff... babysat/did physics stuff, came home, read, ate dinner, read, and now I'm watching The Office/reading Catching Fire during commercial breaks/blogging during commercial breaks. Yep yep.
Tomorrow is Friday... Interesting. Hah.
Philippians 2:5-11
5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
A challenge is being presented: Have the same mindset as Christ Jesus. Uhm. Tough. Yup. Now it tells us what the mindset of Christ is.
6 Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
7 rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.

Jesus, who is in his very nature God, didn't think that his equality with God was something to be used as an advantage.
Jesus made himself nothing. He took on the nature of a servant in the likeness of a human.
8 And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
In his human-ness, Jesus was humble. So humble that he was willing to die a sinner's death. Jesus was blameless and had no sin, yet he died a sinners death.
He was obedient to death. Death on a cross.
9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

Because of Jesus' willingness to humble himself, God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name. When we hear that name, every single knee should bow. Every knee in heaven and on earth. Every tongue will acknowledge that Jesus is Lord. They will acknowledge the glory of God.
Yeah.
Okay.
Wow.
I'm going to go to bed now. And I'll be thinking about that.
