NIPTO, Day 181

Ooof. I'm tired.

Yesterday was Chris and Rosie's wedding. (Pictures/post here)
We got home semi late from that... and I didn't sleep super well... aka woke up early.
I sat around and read. And then ate breakfast. And then read some more. And then talked to Katie. Annnd then read a little bit more. And then took a nap. (I almost never take naps!)
I woke up... and kinda... did nothing. Probably read some more. Then I washed the Honda with Hannah... and then we went up to the neighbors house/back yard for dinner, they were having a 50th anniversary party for his parents. It was very nice. We ate dinner and talked to some other neighbors...
We came back down to our house and Hannah and I finished cleaning out the Honda... she vacuumed it and I scrubbed the floor mats.
I took a shower and then watched an episode of What Not To Wear with the fam.

KATIE comes home tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She probably won't even read this until she gets home. Unless she gets on tomorrow morning. And I don't think she will. But yeah. :) That's exciting.

Soooooo now NIPTO. Because it's late.

Acts 13:13-20a
13From Paphos, Paul and his companions sailed to Perga in Pamphylia, where John left them to return to Jerusalem. 14From Perga they went on to Pisidian Antioch. On the Sabbath they entered the synagogue and sat down. 15After the reading from the Law and the Prophets, the synagogue rulers sent word to them, saying, "Brothers, if you have a message of encouragement for the people, please speak."

Okay. Soooo Paul and "his companions" (Barnabas was one of them) went to Perga in Pamphylia. Wherever that is. John left them there and went back to Jerusalem. From Perga they kept on going until they got to Pisidian Antioch (there were at least 2 different Pisidian's therefore the Antioch.)
On Saturday (the sabbath) they went to the synagogue and sat down and read the Bible. Then the people in the synagogue who were running the place told them that if they had any kind of special message, especially if it was encouraging, that they should feel free to share it.

16Standing up, Paul motioned with his hand and said: "Men of Israel and you Gentiles who worship God, listen to me! 17The God of the people of Israel chose our fathers; he made the people prosper during their stay in Egypt, with mighty power he led them out of that country, 18he endured their conduct for about forty years in the desert, 19he overthrew seven nations in Canaan and gave their land to his people as their inheritance. 20All this took about 450 years.

So Paul stands up and motions for people to listen. He addresses the Jews and the Gentiles who worship there. He starts telling them how God chose the Israelites and how they were prosperous in Egypt. He tells them how they were lead out of Egypt and how they made it through forty years in the desert. They overthrew nations. Seven to be exact. And all of that took 450 years. Let's see, 450 years ago was the year 1560. So from 1560-2010 is how long it took them to be chosen, enslaved, freed, wander around in the desert, and then be prosperous again.
That's a long time. Just sayin'. =P

And that's all for tonight. Except for this. We were trying to find a What Not To Wear on a tape, and Victor Borge was on PBS. He is hilarious, and here is one of his skits. So funny! Enjoy :)

(Oh yeah, and 19 hours until Kate's home! (or at least at the airport. Definitely less until she's in the USA!) So that's exciting. I'm going to go to bed now. We're doing music in the morning and that involves getting up early!)

Gooooood night my lovely readers! :)
